UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more NTUC members to go for skills upgrading.
NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP.
Under the NTUC Enhanced Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP), union members aged 40 years and above will get increased funding support of $500, announced NTUC on 19 June 2020. The enhanced funding will apply from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022.
Currently, NTUC union members can use UTAP to defray 50% of unfunded course fees for up to $250 per year. The programme is managed by NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute).
According to NTUC, the Enhanced UTAP is part of its employability support for workers in their 40s and 50s towards skills upgrading and re-skilling. It also complements the national SkillsFuture effort.
With the UTAP enhancement, union members, aged 40 to 60, who have not used their SkillsFuture Credit since 2015 or UTAP will have a combined amount of $2,000 available for training.
Meanwhile, union members above 60 will have a combined amount of $1,500.

Funding for all the workshops will expire on 31st March 2022, subject to the successfully renewal by NTUC.

The 50% saving course fees using both the UTAP and Enhanced UTAP funding only applies to the 1 day workshops.
Should you apply for funding for a 1 day workshop and Practitioner Certification workshop, the course saving will be less than 50%.
NTUC members aged 40 years old and above enjoy enhanced UTAP funding support from $250 to $500 (50% x course fee, capped at $500) from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.
